Register or Update your HR

I'd like these pages to reflect the interests of those of us who own, have owned, or would like to own one of the many beautiful yachts produced by Hallberg and Rassy, and Hallberg-Rassy.  At first, as this web site took shape, I thought it would be a social kind of gathering place for classic HR owners here in the Northeastern U.S.A.  We'd exchange ideas, offer help, advice, and encouragement to those who need it.  Perhaps we'd arrange a get together someday, or meet on the water for an enjoyable weekend.  But it seemed it should develop into more than that.

In September of 1998 I responded to an ad in Soundings (a regional USA boating news magazine) for a Pearson 34 (my wife Jahnn and I had a '79 Pearson 26 that we loved, but wanted to move up).  The broker informed me that the 34 was sold, but that he had a Hallberg Mistral 33.  Being a small lake sailor from upstate New York in the USA, I had never heard of a Hallberg, and told him I wasn't interested.  Later, though, I was playing on the web and did a search on "Halburg", "Hallburg", "Halberg", and finally "Hallberg", and found the Hallberg-Rassy site.  Wow.  Nice Boats!  I then found their "Previous Models" page, and found the 33.  WOW!  Reading through HRs now defunct guestbook, I found a couple of other Mistral owners (Betsy Riggs and George Kewin).  I corresponded with them both, and their replies amazed me with their enthusiasm for their Mistrals.

To make a long story short, we bought the boat.   I guess I wouldn't have if it hadn't been for Betsy and George, and the very well done and informative Hallberg-Rassy web site.   So, maybe there are a few other prospective buyers out there who would like to correspond with owners of Mistrals, Rasmus', HR41s, Mistresses, Monsuns, HR 31s, HR 62s, et al, and we can offer help.

Please complete as much of the following information as you can.  Registry listings are hardly ever posted promptly, but usually within a week or two.  Also, I encourage you to send along photos now and then.  I NEVER tire of looking at HR boat photos, and I assume most other HR owners share this passion.
