I can imagine you have the same uncomfortable steering, pulling your arms always longer.

The keel-construction is as I mentioned easy. Make it 60 cm longer with 20 mm plywood and bring the complete keel with hard-foam in a good hydro-dynamic shape.  Then envelope the keel with 6 layer of glassfiber, smooth it with surfacer, coat it with 5 layer gell-sheal and finish it with your anti-fouling paint.  For twenty years I wrote the story in german in the sailing-magazine "Yacht".

The longer keel made the movements in rough see much more stable; the unexpected lateral movements on the vorder deck were gone!

The rudder-construction is as follows. I coated 5 layer of 12 mm plywood together. After having well shaped - leaving sufficient openings for the two hinges - I coated the wood with a special primer to guarantee a perfected connection with two glassfiber-layer. Further treatment as for the keel: surfacer, gell-sheal and anti-fouling. Two added drawings of the rudder-construction enable you to make the job.
