HR 382

The HR 382 was designed by Olle Enderlein.  It was in production from 1984 to 1992 , with 120 boats built.  The HR 382 differs from the HR 38 in many ways.  More information and specifications can be found at Hallberg-Rassy's excellent web site:  http://www.hallberg-rassy.com

I've learned that HR owners are enthusiastic about their choice of boats.  If you are considering purchasing a 382 and would like an owner's opinion, do not hesitate to contact anyone listed here.

If you own an HR 382 anywhere in the world, and would like to join our group, click here.

Home Port:   Brighton England
Owner:  Rod Halliburton

Previous known vessel names and owners:  Mr van Dam Gouda, Holland
Other comments, plans, special notes: I have just bought Grand Coast and I intend to change her name as her current name was Mr Van Dams business operation name. I think something a little more personal is appropriate. I brought her home from Holland and intend to keep her in Brighton England for the immediate future.

Year:    1986
Hull_Number: 17
Vessel name: TAO
Home Port:   Gravesend - UK
Owner:  Sue & Tom Helm
Email address:    Helms4fun " @ " aol.com
Previous known vessel names and owners:  Originally named Tao, was re-named 'Emily Too' by the previous owners, Mr & Mrs Cherrington
Other comments, plans, special notes: Tao is currently moored on the River Dart (UK) but will probably be re-located to Brighton in September '06. The short term aim is to get to grips with the multitude of equipment installed on board and learn how to get the best out of her under sail.   Our long term aims are to be able to 'slow down' on the work front and enjoy extended cruising time, firstly in the Mediterranean and then perhaps an Atlantic crossing.

:   "Falconer" was last owned by Bob Gipe & Betsy Fine of Tacoma, WA, who have cared for her exceptionally well for the past few years.

Tim & Ginny Le Couteur of New Zealand appear to have been the second caring owners. We know little of the previous owners, but understand they may have been the first owners, comissioning her in Sweden in 1988.

We would very much enjoy hearing more about Falconer's previous crusing history, and her owners who have cared so well for her (and her for them) over the years.

We gather her history includes making her way to Turkey from Sweden, then on to New Zealand and the Caribbean, only to cross the USA overland to Seattle, WA and the Puget Sound, continuing down the US West Coast to the Sea of Cortez in Mexico, and back up to Alaska before settling down in Tacoma, WA where we discovered her. It has been a long search and we are thrilled with the outcome!

Other comments, plans, special notes:  Jean & I became the forth proud owners Falconer in November 2000. She lies in Tacoma, WA awaiting our retirement in early '2001 with  plans to cruise the Pacific Northwest for a few months this spring, before shipping her to Evanston, IL (Chicago) on Lake Michigan for the remainder of summer and fall, where we will cruise the great lakes.

In spring of '2001 we plan to leave Chicago and her unpleasant winters behind making our way up the St. Lawerence Seaway to the eastern seaboard as a live-aboard couple, in search of a new home port. Future winters will find us crusing the Caribbean, returning to work the beautiful US East Coast for the summers.

Given her rich history her name will remain  "Falconer."  Pictures will follow...
